Samuel Asher's Birth . Sarasota Birth Photographer

This birth story started 3 days prior to the hospital photos you're about to see.  Do the math...that's a stinkin' LONG LABOR!
I met up with Jessica and Gerrid at the hospital, after they transferred from the local birth center.  After 3 days of active labor but no progression, they were too exhausted to go on as they had been.
So they came to the hospital, and got an epidural.  This mama had to get some rest if she wanted to be able to push this baby out!
Once you get to the hospital, it's only ice chips and popcicles!
The nurse checked Jessica's dilation and she was 8 cm!  She was very pleased with that number!
The birth team...
Jessica's mom, giving her support...
Nurse Laura, explaining how the pushing will work...
Jessica could feel the contractions strong on one side, despite the epidural...
Prayers were often said over Jess as she labored...
10 cm!  Last shot of that belly...
Still able to smile between pushes!
I loved these mother & daughter expressions (Jess's mom and sister)...
more prayers!
Mama got a some oxygen to help raise baby's heart rate.  It was tough on the little guy!
Crowning!  in comes the Dr...
Can't believe he's almost here!  The emotions start...
Tears from Daddy (my favorite)...
